Officers Comments/Reports:

President, John Coyle:

John was invited to the PDG Club Committee breakfast meeting to bring them up to date about the Men’s Club activities.  This meeting is a good platform for John to explain how so many people volunteer to keep the golf course in great shape.  The Men’s Club, Women’s Club, Road Runners, and Twilight Golf groups all pitch in to maintain the greens and support the Divot Party each year.

There has been a change in schedule for the next Team Sweeps event.  It was scheduled for the 23rd but now the make-up date for the Member/Member will take precedence and round two of the M/M will be played on that Wednesday.

John also introduced David Levandowski, our new Hearts and Flowers Board Member.

VP, Ron Hagedorn:  N/R

Secretary, John Whitney: N/R

Treasurer, Clarke Sharar:  See Financials above

Club Liaison, Richard Warburton:

Richard informed the attendees that we purchased 18 new “green repair tools”.  These tools will assist volunteers from the various Clubs and Groups (see President’s report above) in fixing ball marks on the putting greens.  Once the weather straightens out, the Women’s groups will take responsibility for selected greens.  We are always looking for volunteers to assist with this program.

Richard mentioned how grateful Andy Diaz is with the maintenance program.  Andy will be happy to educate volunteers on the proper way to fix ball marks on the greens.

Member -at-Large, Bob Shakespeare: N/R

Member -at-Large, Dale Erickson: N/R

Handicap, Stephen Warren:

Please post your scores regularly and write your full name on the scorecard, legibly.

Richard Warburton suggested that at a minimum, players should write their GHIN number on the card.  Rich also pointed out that we will have our GHIN numbers updated daily in 2020.

Membership, Doug Hodson:

We have 294 members, including our “Comps and Social Members”.

We have added approximately 10 fewer members this year than we lost from last year.  The good news is that approximately 20 new members have played in our tournaments this year.

Tournaments, Chris Marshall/Bob Shakespeare:

Chris mentioned that the first day of the Member/Member tournament went well (132 players) and reminded players that round two is on Wednesday the 23rd.  We’ll be playing a “Chapman” format for round two.  There won’t be a luncheon on the 23rd but results of the two days will be posted on the bulletin board and on the Website.  There are seven players who will not return on the 23rd.  There will be a special game for the returning partners.

The Member/Guest will be on February 8, 9th and 10th.  We have approximately 30 players signed up so far.  We will kick things off with the Horse Race on Friday the 8th and play Saturday and Sunday for team prizes.  After the Horse Race there will be a Cocktail party for players and spouses/significant others at 4:30.

The Presidents Cup, Mini-Member and Club Championship will be the last three tournaments (not necessarily in that order) for the year.

There is always a need for helpers on Tournament day.  If you can help, please notify Chris or Bob.

Chris asked everyone to please knock the sand off your ($#@damn) shoes before putting.

Publicity, Dan Cameron: N/R

Hearts & Flowers, Dave Levandowski:

A Get-Well Card went out to Becky Stephens, wife of MGC member Jack Stephens and Sherm McGinnis.
