Officers Comments/Reports:

President, Doug Hodson: Doug received a thank you card from the ladies who helped with the Member/Member tournament after they received their gift certificates.

Members were informed that future Welcome Back luncheons will be in the large hall, rather than the Rec, starting next season.

Doug asked for help in hanging the flag brackets on Palm Trees for future tournaments and special events.

He made another appeal for all members to repair ball marks on the greens.

VP, Rick Yeo: N/R

Secretary, John Whitney: N/R

Treasurer, Gary Druckrey: See report above

Club Liaison, Bob Larsen:  Please adhere to the 90-degree rule with carts.  Use  common sense in moving to another ball in the near proximity to one already hit. Please adhere to minimizing traffic on the fairways.

We have 19 men and three ladies repairing greens for divots and ball marks, please do your part.  Please repair your ball marks and two others when on a green.  Don’t dig and lift under the divot, come in from the side and push the turf to fix a divot.

Please avoid repeated trips in tire tracks from maintenance vehicles or other golf carts to minimize wear and tear.

Please do not cross over two fairways, rather than staying on cart paths to leave course or for getting to another destination.  Members have been observed doing such a thing.

Member  at Large, John Coyle:  For participation in the Club Championship, a minimum of five “Sweeps”

events must be completed.  This is the only tournament where that requirement is enforced.

At the next General Membership Meeting, John has arranged for John Fox to take us through the new Website.

Member  at Large, Tony Tilt:  N/R

Handicap, Clint Jay: Please post your rounds within three days of playing or leave the card in the shack.

Clint reported that 1774 rounds have been posted, 1052 of which were played at PDG.

Membership, Brian Duckworth:    We now have 315 Members.

Tournaments, Orest Kruhlak:   Member/Member went well and we had about the same number of players as last year.  Orest noted that 30 players from last year, who were in the money, decided not to play this year or didn’t come back for the season.

He also asked that tee boxes be moved to good areas, not worn down locations, as we just had.

Publicity, Dennis Hanks:

Hearts & Flowers, David Shaw:  Mike Roberts and Dick Dill are in the hospital.

Hole-in-One, Ken Gordon:  136 people in the pool.

Social, Howard Hudson: N/R

SCGA, Clint Jay: N/R

Rules, Byron Harvie: See New Business below

AM Sweeps, Ken Gordon:    N/R

PM Sweeps, Bob Breidinbach (Filling in till position is filled):  N/R

Past President, John Coyle: N/R

Parliamentarian, Dale Erickson: N/R

Canadian Representative, Chris Marshall:  Welcome back to the recent Canadian members who have returned, have a good season.

OLD BUSINESS:   None

NEW BUSINESS:  Byron Harvie and Bob Breidenbach reviewed five golf rules, mostly pertaining to identifying your ball off the green and avoid penalty strokes.  Bob also addressed what to do if your ball lands on the cart path or your stance requires you to stand on the cart path.  The presentations were helpful and educational.  Key point: don’t lift or move your ball without marking it with a tee after obtaining permission from your partner.  Ball must be replaced to the exact location it was in with the  ball logo’s in the same position they were before lifting.  No cleaning permitted.

CLOSING REMARKS (PRESIDENT):  Charity Tournament coming up, pick up an envelope if you want to donate to the Joslyn Center.

ADJOURNMANT.  President Doug Hodson adjourned the meeting at: 10:25 am
