    Meeting called to Order by Ken Dobson

    Pledge of Allegiance

    Roll Call – Ken Dobson, Bill McCain, John McClain, John Tierney, Gary Bennett, Chris Ebert, Gil McKinnie, Doug Hodson, John Schmidt, Steve Swiackey, Richard Warburton, Steve Warren, Tom Sherk, Dave Levandowski, Greg Quaid were all in attendance. Rick Swenson, Roy Benson, Bob Shakespeare, and Dale Erickson were unable to attend.

    Board of Candidates – Lola Breeze, Ken Dobson, Steve Byrne and Brian Gray introduced themselves to the MGC and review their respective platforms. Ken Dobson Presented a statement from Rose Myles, who was unable to attend.

    General Meeting Notes

    Golf Carts

    • 2 cart per foursome rule goes into effect with the commencement of the 2026-2027 season. The rule remains in effect until May 1, 2027.
    • Golf Carts shall adhere to cart path only from the commencement of the new season until the beginning of December. Actual date TBA.

    Pace of Play

    • Pace of play is frequently an issue especially during tournaments.
    • Target time for completion of an 18-hole round is 4 hours not to exceed 4-1/2 hours.
    • Tournament scorecards will have target completion times posted by each hole so that golfers can endeavor to keep up with pace of play
    • Ready golf was suggested.
    • Waving up the group behind you on hole #3 when players are waiting was suggested.
    • Should we limit the number of entered into tournaments?
    • Should we start play at 7:30am on Men’s Club Wednesdays and tournaments?

     

     

     

     

     

    Treasurers Report from John McClain

    • April Bank Balance = 12,902.55
    • May Bank Balance after expenses = 12,697.92
    • September Bank Balance after receipt of funds for memberships and sponsorships = 19,277.22
    • October Bank Balance after expenses for Hole-in-One prizes, Sponsorship Supplies, Tournament expenses, and MGC Website fees = 17,358.90
    • Report is unaudited.

    Sponsorship

    • Steve Swiackey reported that 29 request for sponsorship letters have been sent out with 18 responses.

    Handicap Chairman

    • The GHIN app has been updated. It now includes maps of 1000’s of golf courses.
    • Updating the app of your phones is quite easy…Logout, then Login with your username and password. It was pretty easy. I was able to do it and I’m an analog man.

    Membership

    • Gary Bennett reported that current membership stands at 85, with 4 new members.

    Hole-in-One

    • Doug Hodson reported that we had 12 Aces during the last season with $120 of prize monies being paid out to the following golfers = Chris Buffington, Dave Levandowski, Craig Cassidy, Gordon Stitt, Ron Salmon, Glen Conaway, Steve Thomas, David Hurley, Paul Barzman, Roly Luiten, Waylon Simpson, David Hoag. Richard Warburton made on after the 25/26 season concluded and was presented with a PDG Ace bag tag.

    Tournaments

    • Steve Warren reported that our next tournament will be the Eclectic to be played on Dec 2 and Dec 9.
    • Entry fee is $50 per golfer.
    • Ken Dobson moved that round 2 of the Eclectic should not be posted, John McClain seconded the motion…and the motion passed.
    • Welcome back lunch will be held on Tuesday Nov 10th 11am at the Rec Center. Cost is $5, sign up forms are in the golf room.

    Misc

    • Proposal to purchase a sponsorship sign for Ladies was made by Ken Dobson. Cost is $350. Motion was seconded by John Schmidt and Dave Levandowski.
    • Club Fest is coming up. MGC will be represented by Bill McCain, Richard Warburton, and John Schmidt.
    • Next MGC Executive meeting will be held on Nov 3, with photos of officers to be taken during the meeting.
    • Next MGC general meeting will be Nov 17.
    • Sad News – Bill Pursell and Mike Bennett have both passed away. RIP
