Meeting called to Order by Ken Dobson

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call – Ken Dobson, Bill McCain, John McClain, John Tierney, Gary Bennett, Chris Ebert, Gil McKinnie, Doug Hodson, John Schmidt, Steve Swiackey, Richard Warburton, Steve Warren, Tom Sherk, Dave Levandowski, Greg Quaid were all in attendance. Rick Swenson, Roy Benson, Bob Shakespeare, and Dale Erickson were unable to attend.

Board of Candidates – Lola Breeze, Ken Dobson, Steve Byrne and Brian Gray introduced themselves to the MGC and review their respective platforms. Ken Dobson Presented a statement from Rose Myles, who was unable to attend.

General Meeting Notes

Golf Carts

2 cart per foursome rule goes into effect with the commencement of the 2026-2027 season. The rule remains in effect until May 1, 2027.
Golf Carts shall adhere to cart path only from the commencement of the new season until the beginning of December. Actual date TBA.

Pace of Play

Pace of play is frequently an issue especially during tournaments.
Target time for completion of an 18-hole round is 4 hours not to exceed 4-1/2 hours.
Tournament scorecards will have target completion times posted by each hole so that golfers can endeavor to keep up with pace of play
Ready golf was suggested.
Waving up the group behind you on hole #3 when players are waiting was suggested.
Should we limit the number of entered into tournaments?
Should we start play at 7:30am on Men’s Club Wednesdays and tournaments?

Treasurers Report from John McClain

April Bank Balance = 12,902.55
May Bank Balance after expenses = 12,697.92
September Bank Balance after receipt of funds for memberships and sponsorships = 19,277.22
October Bank Balance after expenses for Hole-in-One prizes, Sponsorship Supplies, Tournament expenses, and MGC Website fees = 17,358.90

Sponsorship

Steve Swiackey reported that 29 request for sponsorship letters have been sent out with 18 responses.

Handicap Chairman

The GHIN app has been updated. It now includes maps of 1000’s of golf courses.
Updating the app of your phones is quite easy…Logout, then Login with your username and password. It was pretty easy. I was able to do it and I’m an analog man.

Membership

Gary Bennett reported that current membership stands at 85, with 4 new members.

Hole-in-One

Doug Hodson reported that we had 12 Aces during the last season with $120 of prize monies being paid out to the following golfers = Chris Buffington, Dave Levandowski, Craig Cassidy, Gordon Stitt, Ron Salmon, Glen Conaway, Steve Thomas, David Hurley, Paul Barzman, Roly Luiten, Waylon Simpson, David Hoag. Richard Warburton made on after the 25/26 season concluded and was presented with a PDG Ace bag tag.

Tournaments

Steve Warren reported that our next tournament will be the Eclectic to be played on Dec 2 and Dec 9.
Entry fee is $50 per golfer.
Ken Dobson moved that round 2 of the Eclectic should not be posted, John McClain seconded the motion…and the motion passed.
Welcome back lunch will be held on Tuesday Nov 10^th 11am at the Rec Center. Cost is $5, sign up forms are in the golf room.

Misc

Proposal to purchase a sponsorship sign for Ladies was made by Ken Dobson. Cost is $350. Motion was seconded by John Schmidt and Dave Levandowski.
Club Fest is coming up. MGC will be represented by Bill McCain, Richard Warburton, and John Schmidt.
Next MGC Executive meeting will be held on Nov 3, with photos of officers to be taken during the meeting.
Next MGC general meeting will be Nov 17.
Sad News – Bill Pursell and Mike Bennett have both passed away. RIP

Message from Gil

Good afternoon, gentlemen. Gil McKinnie (MC Publicity) here checking in from a very smoky Manson, WA. Our AQI has bounced around from 750 to 200 everyday for the past two weeks. Certainly not golf worthy. I’m reading that many of our Canadian members are also experiencing much of the same as those of us that summer in the great PNW. We have been getting hit hard with wildfires in the Cascade Mountains and foothills. It’s been much too dry and hot for much too long.
I’m beginning to get the PDG bug as I’m sure the outside air is clear and desert fresh.
This is an early email sending along your membership renewal information. And I’m also knocking off the dust on communicating via MailChimp and sweeping the cobwebs off of this chimp(me), or is it chump?
On the ‘good’ news front, the SCGA announced their charge to our club remains the same and with that, so does your membership renewal fee – $70. In these inflationary times golf at PDGCC remains the best secret in the valley (shush).
Renewal forms will also be available in the golf information room next to the golf shop.
And this form will be published in the next PDG Bulletin.

There you will find all the new information that has been passed along by our stellar Executive Committee. They know you eagerly await the new season.

Introduction of new webmaster for Mens Golf Club Site

Hello fellow PDG Men’s Club golfers. I am excited to announce that I will be handling our website effective April 1st, 2026. As I prepared for this endeavor, I was surprised at how few members utilize this website, but even more surprised by the fact that I could find only a few members that have even heard of it.

It is with this in mind, our Publicity Chair, Gil McKinney, will be sending out an email blast to all members regarding the existence of this site and inviting them to respond with comments, suggestions on how they would like it updated going forward. I believe if this site is utilized correctly, it can be a great way to disseminate information to all our membership in one cohesive location.

There are forms in the Golf Information Room by the Computer Monitor for the Annual Breakfast on March 17, 2026. There is a $5.00 donation that goes to the Employees Appreciation Fund. You can attach cash or a check and drop in the Men’s Golf Slot.

February Update

The regular meeting of the PDGMC will be convened on 2/17 at 9AM in the Palm Room. The agenda will include voting for the 2026-28 club officers.

The Men’s Club ‘Club Championship Tournament’ entry forms are available in the Golf Room adjacent to the Golf Shop. Entry fee is $50 p/member. The tournament is in just 3 weeks. So get your entry in so that you don’t miss out on possible glory, fame and money.

There will be a PDG ‘Town Hall’ meeting on March 5th at 4PM to discuss eradication of the ‘nut sedge’ and the possibility of temporary golf course closures.

Member/Guest Tournament results will follow in a separate email later today (hopefully). Your publicity guy (me) is still producing more bogies than birdies as he navigates the nuances of mailchimp.
