Officers Comments/Reports

President – Doug Hodson:  Rick Yeo reported for Doug that we received a Thank You for the $1500 donation towards the Tree Fund.  New Trees were planted on number’s 8, 10 and 12.  Another tree was planted on number 2, close to Mike and Gay Hogan’s home, donated by Gay’s Ma Jong group.

We also received a Thank You for our $200 donation to the Employee Day event.

VP – Rick Yeo: N/R

Treasurer – Gary Druckrey: (See Financial report above)

Club Liaison – Bob Larsen:   Mario was reminded to rebuild the drop area on number 9. The slow green speeds were discussed and Mario will see that the process is improved.  The initial attempt resulted in too much sand on the greens and the mowers would not cut the greens low enough to increase ball speed.  Mario told Bob that they changed reels on the mowers to improve cutting and results seem favorable.   That program will continue.

As per a request from the PDG Men’s Club Board of Directors, Bob asked that the balls on the practice area be washed more often to minimize golf clubs having black marks on the face.  We will monitor this situation to see how it goes.

The green repair team is depleted due to summer trips back to home bases.  Some volunteers have stepped up and we will try to fill in the voids as best we can.  Please repair ball marks as you play, both yours and a couple of others.

Bob was asked if new sand is planned for any of the traps.  Bob has not heard anything along those lines but will make a note to follow up.

OLD BUSINESS:  A motion was made and seconded to purchase the Dry Erase Boards for posting tournament results, etc.  Motion passed.

An observation by one of the attending members was that our players are not complying with the stated policy to park golf carts on the cart path when putting.  Not only that but members are not complying with the rule to keep carts at least 30 feet from the greens.  The question was raised again as to how we can enforce those rules.  As we have brought up before, taking down a license number of the cart or taking a picture of each offender and turning it in to Bob in the Club House is a solution.  The overall feeling of those at the meeting is that players just don’t care.

Numerous names have been turned in but nothing seems to be corrected.  Bob Larsen has approached the Golf Committee about this situation but nothing seems to get done.

NEW BUSINESS:  None

Closing Remarks:

Have a great summer, see you next season.  The next General Membership meeting will be October 17th in the PALM ROOM. The Ballroom will not be available.

Adjournment:  Meeting adjourned at 9:25 am by Vice President Rick Yeo
