President, John Coyle:
The PDG Team Play event will be played at our Course on March 7, 2019 and there is a need for golf carts for visiting players. If you can donate your cart for the morning round, please notify Ken Dobson at kdobson@aol.com. Carts must be down by the practice putting green by 7 a.m.

VP, Ron Hagedorn: N/R

Secretary, John Whitney: N/R

Treasurer, Clarke Sharar: See Financials above.

Club Liaison, Richard Warburton:
Due to the rain we have had recently, the rough has grown higher than desirable and Andy Diaz is working on correcting the problem as soon as it dries out a bit. Our Greens are rolling at 9.5, right where Andy wants them.
Congratulations to the Canadian Can/Am team for their victory last weekend.
Andy Diaz is working on a budget for next year and hopes to secure enough money to improve the sand traps and level out tee boxes.

Member -at-Large, Bob Shakespeare: N/R

Member -at-Large, Dale Erickson: N/R

Handicap, Stephen Warren:
Steve is still having trouble reading names and/or GHIN numbers on scorecards. Please don’t assume he can read and understand your abbreviated names or initials. It would help him greatly if all players would take the time to write legibly and correctly.

Membership, Doug Hodson:
We just received an application for a new member, which brings our total to 304 (counting Comps and Social members). We have 50 new members this year, offsetting the 53 who did not renew for whatever reason.
The Certificate that we used to receive from the SCGA ($15) has gone up to $20 if you send in the $75 membership fee. What a deal!!

Tournaments, Chris Marshall/Bob Shakespeare:
The Member/Guest tournament had 53 teams and went well. This tournament costs us about $2000, which is normal. We will try for more entrants next year.

The Club Championship tournament is coming up and we have 138 participants signed up. 144 players are the maximum we will allow. This year there will be a Red/Gold bracket (about 8 to 12 players) and require only two days of play (three rounds for the other players).

Following the Club Championship will be the Presidents Cup. This tournament will be broken into two brackets, 0 to 17 handicap and 17 and above. We will play a Stableford format.

A motion was made and seconded to add $20 to our 2020 season registration for those who do not show up for the lunch after the Club Championship. Motion passed. The Club By-Laws say the Board of Directors must make the final decision on matters such as this. The Board will discuss this topic at their March 5, 2019 meeting. It was obvious that those in attendance at the meeting were adamant that restitution should be paid by those who do not attend the luncheon without notifying the Tournament Committee. For this year’s tournament, we will ask participants to confirm their intention to attend the Luncheon. If they elect to skip the luncheon, we will have time to notify the Restaurant.

Next season we intend to bring back the Match Play tournament over two Wednesdays, more on that later.

Publicity, Dan Cameron:
John Coyle thanked Dan for placing the Board of Directors pictures in the posting area along the walkway to the Pro Shop.

Hearts & Flowers, David Levandowski: The following cards have gone out since the last meeting:
Get Well Cards: Roger Gould, Bob Mullen and Mike Venable
Thinking of You Cards: Gary Johnson and Jim Thielke
In Sympathy Cards: Judy Scholer and Mary Ontiveros

Hole-in-One, Ken Gordon:
Still only one Ace this season, Kelly Cooper.

Social, Vacant

SCGA, Stephen Warren: N/R

Rules, Byron Harvie:
Byron reviewed more of the new rules such as: how to ID a ball in the fairway, partners standing behind a putter to see the line, “Drop” vs “Placing” your ball, Reference Point, substitution of a new ball when taking relief, etc. He handed out a sheet containing the “20 Must Know Rules of Golf For 2019” and a quiz about an incorrect drop in a sand trap. Most of us flunked the test of how many strokes must be added for the violation.

AM Sweeps, Ken Gordon: N/R

PM Sweeps, (Vacant Position): See AM Sweeps.

Past President, Doug Hodson: N/R

Parliamentarian, Dale Erickson: N/R

Canadian Representative, Rich Davidson:
Rich indicated that the Canadian members are very happy, especially with a victory over the American team in last weekends Can/Am tournament.
